4th of July in Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania

The 4th of July Weekend found us attending Pennsylvania's 2nd largest Independence parade in Cannonsburg, PA (outside of Pittsburgh).


Scouting is celebrating its 100th anniversary and so they wanted 100 cub scouts and boy scouts in the parade, so our grandson Taylor got to march in the parade.


(After the parade he told his younger brother Carson that he could be in the parade next year because he didn't want to do it again.

I don't think it was the heat, or the long walk but it was missing out on grabbing the candy that was tossed out to the spectators by the parade participants.


But never fear - Carson had gathered enough for the both of them plus their little brother Sheadon (2 gallon size bags) of penny candy.

The boys each took a turn getting to sleep at the hotel with Grandma and Grandpa and swim in the pool. I think they enjoyed having control of the TV remote most of all.

We also gathered at Stephen's co-workers home in the countryside for a BBQ that afternoon

and watched the spectacular fireworks display at the high school.
