We drove up to Niagara Falls, New York and joined Robert and Sandra and their family.
We took our first time ever trip on the "Maid of Mists" which takes you to the base of the falls.
We were situated right in front but due to the moisture we didn't take any pictures at the falls.
That night we watched the fireworks through the trees as they exploded over the American Falls.
We drove to Canandiagua Lake where we stayed in a upscale cabin and enjoyed exploring the lake as well as a trip over to Watkins Glen on Seneca Lake.

The Finger Lake region of Western New York is beautiful.
Robert's family explored Grimes Glen in Naples at the south end of Canandiagua Lake after we had reported to work at the Hill Cumorah Visitor Center.
They had so much fun climbing through the creek up to two waterfalls, that we drove down there on our day off and had an absolutely marvelous time.

We also took time to ride the "Sam Patch" Erie Canal boat with our friends the Jensens and Risers. We got to go through a "lock" which raised our boat 25 feet up to the level of the next leg of the river.
