For some reason my blogs for August were lost and so I will attempt to put back the pictures and information that I had previously sent.
We headed to Maryland with grandchildren Christian and Madison to visit Jen & Michael and their children.
We did the Washington DC scene for a couple of days and still didn't get to see everything.
Highlights of the Smithsonian, the new World War II memorial, and the White House are captured.
The children (teenagers) were really impressed with the Holocaust Museum and came away with a better understanding of the importance of loving thy neighbor. It is a shame that younger generations don't realize the tragedies of years past and tend to make similar mistakes.
Unfortunately the inhumane treatment of individuals still goes on across the world. We must fight for right by remaining true to God. When individuals try to take on that role and trample the real knowledge of God then all mankind suffers.
The cousins loved being together, though Madison found that her cousin (Conner) her age wanted to spend his time with the older boys.
He is almost as tall as them anyway(6 ft. plus. Madison, petite but very active and athletic could have easily kept up with the big boys but she found she rather enjoyed the company of her younger cousin (by 6 years)who is also active and athletic.
We took advantage of being near Baltimore and went to their aquarium.
To give Christian and Madison a real "back east" experience we rode the train/subway. It wasn't busy but a fun adventure.
For a while they stood up and held onto the poles, just like you see in the movies.
We had a wonderful visit. We put Christian & Madison on a plane for Utah and then we headed to Pennsylvania to visit Stephen and Heather and their boys.
